Following on from last year's quite remarkable Bug!Slug birthday cake, this year's entrant sets new standards for what you can achieve with a packet of multi-coloured icing (that's frosting to you Yanks!) and a whole lot of patience.

I'm not sure exactly how detailed the photo is, but Cat even managed to sculpt hot dog chunks to put in amongst the macaroni... What she didn't realise (largely because "everything I know about your fandom comes from being your beta!") is that mac 'n' cheese has never actually been in the show, but somehow frequently manages to work its way into my fics. But that just made me love it even more.

So, basically, if you get the joke, thanks for reading ;-)

hee hee, this rocks. It's so true though, mac 'n' cheese doesn't appear in the show, but you know....I automatically tried to remember which eps it was in. That's how amazing real and wonderful your fics are! <3

Oh bless you! I have no clue where it came from and then it just became a recurring thing! I think it was something that Sarah could potentially cook without ruining the world (despite the fact that it's always been Cam who's cooked it in the fics.) And then Roxy sent me a packet to try and someone on ff.net mentioned developing a craving after reading... cj's fics brought to you by Kraft Macaroni and Cheese ;-)

And now I want mac 'n' cheese...

my favorite of your references to it was in Breaking point when it says:

Her hand closed around a packet of macaroni and cheese. It was one of Sarah's favorites, being practically impossible to burn, undercook, or otherwise destroy. Cameron didn't know whether it made for an appropriate Christmas meal, but her research indicated it was a good choice for convalescing patients.

Hee hee hee hee. This just sums it up, really. :D

LOL. I seriously think Kraft should be paying me some kind of fee ;-)

Hee hee hee hee. This just sums it up, really. :D

See, cyborgs really can learn! She makes it the regular way in Breaking Point and by Sacrifices, she's so damn good at it she's adding hot dogs *vbg*

Argh! I got so busy yesterday that I completely forgot! Happy Birthday sweetheart!

That cake is awesome, but as with the Weevil one, I am not getting the joke, since I know next to nothing of your fandom.

Watched half of the Rizzoli & Isles pilot btw. I like it! It's like all the Scully characteristics shoved into two people. But then again I dig Castle, so I'm already hopeless. ;-)

Should have sponsored my xc bicycle ride. Seriously. It gives you the energy to write Sarah Connor stories, but it powered me across North America. If I could still eat it, though, I'd make Mom's baked version, starting with REAL extra sharp cheddar cheese, REAL butter, and REAL milk. Laid out like lasagna: layers of shell-pasta, layers of butter and cheese, a little milk, a little ground black pepper. Benadryl...

You *ARE* from the dark side, making me think evil thoughts. ;-)

Kudos to Cat for emulating it in frosting. At least I could eat that.

Happy Birthday, CJ, I wish you all the best!

Oh, and the cake, the cake... it looks amazing and I bet it tastes even better; tell to Cat my sincere admiration. You girls, have a good time :)

P.S. Haven`t red the 5 chapter yet because I saved it for Saturday when no-one will bother me, so I can do proper enjoyable rearing.

It's a plate of macaroni cheese, because that's the only food Sarah Connor can successfully cook between her bouts of saving-the-world - although it has since been pointed out to me that that it's never been mentioned in the TV show, only in CJ's fics...

Hee, welcome to the dark side *g* The pilot is probably the best for all-round plotting, it pretty much goes to shit from there (although the lovely ladies remain fabulous fun.) Maura is a mix of Temperance Brennan and a bit of Scully all rolled into one. Jane is, well, just Jane I guess. She's kinda my favourite, she's so butch she's just awesome, which is even funnier given the actress' political proclivities...

WTF?! You put Benadryl in lasagne? Am I missing something here?! Cough syrup?! Oh *thinks* do you have a lasagne allergy? Cos that would be seriously bad news.

Hell, read it when you want to honey! It's not like there's a time limit. If you get through part 5, part 6 should be up for you on Sunday...

Diphenhydramine... antihistamine.

Cow allergy. Milk, meat. Coughing, retching, mental fuzziness. Violent lower intestinal response. The Benadryl was a fantasy: I really just don't do cow at all anymore. :( I miss it.)

It's good to be back, a bit like coming home y'know.

I got stuck on S3 of Bones, never managed to catch up. And I have issues about Temperance Brennan's ears...they disturb me.

Oh please don't tell me she's a Republican???

LOL, you actually managed one more season than I did. I only made it through the first two but I know that Maura and Brennan are certainly on the same wave-length. As for her ears, I've never really been troubled by them but her fringe in this latest season is horrible! (and as you know, it's all about the hair *g*)

Oh please don't tell me she's a Republican???

Put it this way, her and Sarah Palin are probably very good mates.

Oh eugh. I can't believe Sarah Palin is running to become president.

Are there any place on LJ where people discuss that show then?

Not really. There's a main lj for fic and snips of news and stuff but no real discussion. The funniest posts are the subtext reviews for the eps (cos, seriously, no fucker is watching this for the plot!) http://www.afterellen.com/TV/recaps/rizzoli-and-isles-subtext-recap-four (just poke around on the site and you should find the rest - I blame Dorothy Snarker for getting me into this...)

http://jetgirl78.livejournal.com/?skip=8

To name just a couple - there are about 215797346974397697 posted when a new ep airs :-)

This sounds like a bad joke.

I've watched 2 eps sofar. It's cracky, and the acting seems a bit forced in places, so I'm waiting to watch a few more eps to decide whether it's a keeper or a loser.

Thanks for the links. I'll check them out.
