Poor Jane. What a numbskull! Actually, paradoxically, if she had been hurt worse she might have had an easier time accepting help for having zero ability to refuse it. It is a distinctly odd experience to go from competent and self-reliant to weak and helpless in no time. It very much much messes with one's self image even when one isn't a professional badass like Jane. Maura's medical expertise certainly helped her reassure Jane about her surgical outcome, I wonder if it helped her find the right tone to bulldoze past Jane's insecurity? By the way, I'm keeping the budgie. His name is Howard.
